If 2020 taught us anything, it was to be prepared to adapt, overcome and review our current processes. Therefore, the club is proud to announce a new and exciting partnership with global sporting technology leader, Veo.
In 2020, spectators were either limited or prohibited at games and practices. College showcase events were cancelled due to travel bans and college coaches were unable to attend games live and in person to recruit older players. Coaches spent more time focusing on the health and safety of the players and a little less time on their performances.
With all of those factors and more in mind, SSC has partnered with Veo to offer our staff the ability to record and analyze matches and training sessions without the need for a camera operator. This will enable all coaches, players and families with the ability to watch, study and learn in a way never before done thanks to the ability to watch their performances back, after the event.
"The highest level clubs across the globe, from the English Premier League to the US collegiate system use some form of data collection and performance analysis software to help with the development of their players and teams," said SSC Director of Operations, Tom Butler. "The partnership with Veo will allow our coaching staff, players and families at all ages to use Veo's revolutionary software to breakdown film, just as their favorite professional teams do, to give them every opportunity to develop to their maximum potential."
SSC Director of Coaching and Connecticut College Women's Head Coach, Norm Riker added, "College recruitment was hugely impacted by the pandemic and as a result, so many showcase level players across the US are now panicking in regards to getting eyes on them." Riker continued, "By having the ability to film our showcase players and subsequently being able to clip their performances and send those videos to college coaches, we are relieving some of the stress for our players and families."
The Veo camera's will be in use for the 2021 spring season.
