Southeast Soccer Club is proud to celebrate the selections of Reagan Abel, Payton Baber, and Mila Leonard to the NEFC Regional Development Program (RDP) following strong performances at last month’s tryouts.
The NEFC Regional Development Centers identify and develop top U8–U17 boys and girls from across New England in a high-level training environment that brings together players from multiple aligned regions. Through regional and national events, participating players have the opportunity to be selected to represent NEFC in national and international competitions.
Reagan, Payton, and Mila are the first SSC players to benefit from the club’s partnership with NEFC. Their selections highlight the shared commitment of both clubs to individual player development and to providing the most talented players with pathways to compete at the next level, all while continuing to represent SSC with pride.
Throughout the winter months, the girls will attend RDP sessions at NEFC’s state-of-the-art facility in Massachusetts, while also training with SSC’s 2014 Girls team. The experience they gain in the RDP environment will return with them to their teammates, strengthening the entire 2014 Girls group.
Chloe Raco, NEFC RDP Girls Central Director and 2014 RDP Head Coach, praised the trio, saying:
“I am looking forward to working with the 2014 girls from your club. I was very impressed not only by their technical ability but also the level of respect given to players and coaches before and after the session. It was truly refreshing to see!”
Reagan, Payton, and Mila may be the first SSC players to take this step, but they represent the beginning of what we expect will be many more young athletes who will reap the rewards of this growing and exciting partnership.
